In My Mailbox is a meme created by The Story Siren.

It was a pretty slow book week for me.  Maybe partly due to the snow. Of which, I guess a lot of Michigan is getting more today.  I hope everyone is safe.

Just when she thought she had life and love all figured out…
Divorce attorney Harper James can’t catch a break. Bad enough that she runs into her ex-hubby, Nick, at her sister’s destination wedding, but now, by a cruel twist of fate, she’s being forced to make a cross-country road trip with him. And her almost-fiancé back at home is not likely to be sympathetic.

Harper can’t help that Nick has come blazing back into her life in all of his frustratingly appealing, gorgeous architect glory. But in Nick’s eyes, Harper’s always been the one. If they can only get it right this time, forever might be waiting—just around the bend.

My Review:

Well, I am on my third time writing this review.  I am not sure what is going on but it does not seem to want to save so I hope that I can remember what I said the first two times around.  I love a romance books that has ups and downs and twists all around.  This book totally met my expectations as far as this goes!  There were times that I laughed out loud and times that I actually teared up.  I really did not like Harper in the beginning of this book.  I disliked her treatment of those in her life including her boyfriend, Dennis.  In the middle of her basically putting the line in the sand and proposing to Dennis, Harper gets a call from her step-sister telling her that she is engaged and getting married in Montana in just two weeks.  Harper, a divorce attorney, is up happy about this match as her sister has not made wise choices in the past and has only know this man less than a month.  Harper is even more upset when she finds out that the fiance is her ex-husband, Nick’s, half-brother.  While in Montana for the wedding, Harper realizes that there is still odd tension between her and Nick.  As Dennis is leaving to head back home, they break off their relationship as he is not ready for marriage just the fun they were having.  In an odd turn of events due to an airport computer problem, Harper and Nick end up driving most of the way back to the East Coast.  Along the way they realize that the still have feelings for each other.  I really enjoyed this part of the book.  There were a lot of highs and lows during this section.  What happens when they get back to the East Coast caught me off guard and I didn’t expect what was going to happen.  Overall, this was a easy to read, fun romance.

My rating:
4 of 5 stars
