OJV FF Feature & Follow #81

Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

Horror – This is just not a good match for me at all.  I just end up with terrible nightmares and all creeped out.  What makes it even worse if it is something that really could happen.  My husband and I were talking about this last night.  My example was the movie Last House on the Left.  This movie just got me every where, it could really happen and well I just have a crazy hard time handling this.

What about you guys?  Anything you avoid?

If you are new, welcome and I hope you will check out what is going around here and follow if you like 🙂

Top Ten Comfort Foods:

When I’m writing, I tend to eat a lot of comfort food. It puts me in a good mood, helps me relax, and gives me a lot of brain energy. So now I present to you, in no particular order, my top ten comfort foods.

  1. Ceviche
  2. Stoffer’s Macaroni and Cheese (yes, it has to be THAT kind)
  3. Caramel Corn
  4. Oreo McFlurry
  5. Oreo Madness (it’s at TGI Friday’s and delicious)
  6. Sizzling Hot Apple Pie (no longer exists, but it used to be at Applebee’s).
  7. Spinach and Artichoke Dip
  8. Cheesy Potatoes of any kind.
  9. Stuffed Mushrooms
  10. Sushi

As you can see, most of it is junk food, and a lot of it is stuff I have to go out of the house to get. When I feel the need, I’ll get take out and bring it home. Or I’ll satisfy the craving when I’m out with family or friends, and it’ll stay with me for a while thankfully otherwise my waistline might not be too happy with me.

Vala Agendas
By J.F Jenkins

Blurb:

Cheyenne Loveless was just a boring sixteen-year-old girl. Then Denver Collins bit her and everything changed. Her plants start talking to her, she finds out she’s a Nymph, and a witch and the angel of death show up at her doorstep to take her away to the prestigious Vala School and Seminary. Oh, and she has no choice in the matter.

All she wants to do is blend in and return to being invisible, but the more time that passes, the harder that becomes. Plus she’s a daughter of the Divine, an exclusive secret society which rules the world of myth, and discovers she is a key ingredient to an ancient covenant created before she was born. A covenant that will reshape the order of the world.

Adjusting to a new school is difficult enough, but adding on everyone else’s hidden agendas is the icing on the cake. Cheyenne must learn to see through the lies in order to find her place — and possibly even love — in this new world.
