FF 2012 Feature & Follow #89Q: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

So I was very surprised this morning when I went to look up page counts.  I really thought that the longest book I had read was The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien.  So I was very surprised when the books that I was looking up for favorite 600+ page books ended up being the longest.  So by my recollection the longest book I have read is:

The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5)

The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon with 1443 pages

And my favorite 600+ page books are:

Outlander (Outlander, #1)Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2)Voyager (Outlander, #3)

Drums of Autumn (Outlander, #4)The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5)A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6)An Echo in the Bone (Outlander, #7)

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (629 pages), Dragonfly In Amber by Diana Gabaldon (752 pages), Voyager by Diana Gabaldon (1072 pages), Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon (896 pages), Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon (1443 pages), Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon (980 pages) and An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon (848 pages).

That’s right everyone my favorite series currently is 6,620 pages over 7 books and book 8 comes out next year.  It is so worth the investment!

What about you?  I can’t wait to see what you all have to say!  Leave me a comment and Happy Follow Friday.  Welcome to any new followers!

  1. I’ve only read the first three books in this series and I loved them. I can’t wait to continue! I was so skeptical when I opened up Outlander and saw that it was close to 1,000 pages, but it flew by and I was sad when it ended. Now I really should keep reading!

  2. Thanks for stopping by, following back (linky). I’m on Voyager now, way behind and a long road ahead. Luckily I love the stories.

  3. The longest book I’ve read recently was 1Q84 by Murakami, almost 1,000 pages, and well worth the read!

  4. Wow! Seeing her books a lot today! Never read them myself!

  5. I’ve never heard of Diana, but I’ve seen her books on other FFs today as well. Guess I’ll have to check them out! 🙂

  6. OH MY GOSH! That is a ton of pages to read for one series! I still keep putting off Outlander because of the page count of that one, I can’t imagine the one book that is 1000+ pages! Well I mean I read Harry Potter and loved all of those even the longer ones so I should just get reading this series.

    • You should, it is so worth it! I am listening to them as audiobooks this time around.

  7. If you consider the fact that the version of The Lord of The Rings I read was the one that’s one book with the 3 parts inside (1202 pages in the brazilian version), that would be the longest book I’ve ever read. But if you consider series to favorite 600+ page reads, hands down, Harry Potter. Not so much for the story, but for the feeling it brings me every time I think about it.

I’m a new Twitter follower, btw!
