Dreamless by Josephine Angelini

Synopsis:

Can true love be forgotten?

As the only scion who can descend into the Underworld, Helen Hamilton has been given a nearly impossible task. By night she wanders through Hades, trying to stop the endless cycle of revenge that has cursed her family. By day she struggles to overcome the fatigue that is rapidly eroding her sanity. Without Lucas by her side, Helen is not sure she has the strength to go on.

Just as Helen is pushed to her breaking point, a mysterious new Scion comes to her rescue. Funny and brave, Orion shields her from the dangers of the Underworld. But time is running out—a ruthless foe plots against them, and the Furies’ cry for blood is growing louder.

As the ancient Greek world collides with the mortal one, Helen’s sheltered life on Nantucket descends into chaos. But the hardest task of all will be forgetting Lucas Delos.

Josephine Angelini’s compelling saga becomes ever more intricate and spellbinding as an unforgettable love triangle emerges and the eternal cycle of revenge intensifies. Eagerly awaited, this sequel to the internationally bestselling Starcrossed delivers a gritty, action-packed love story that exceeds all expectations.

Helen finally understood something about Orion that she hadn’t fully grasped before.  Orion had never been accepted by anyone.  Half of his family hated him because he hadn’t been left to die on a mountainside, and the other half hated him because of the Furies compelled them to.  His mother was dead, and the mere sight of him sent his father into a Fury-induced rage.  Apart from Daphne, who had an ulterior motive for everything she did, had any Scion ever invited Orion to actually sit next to them with such kindness?

That is my teaser for this week, I was not really into this book until the last 10 or so pages so much has happened so quickly. What are you teasing me with this week?

Until I DieUntil I Die by Amy Plum

    Until I Die Synopsis:

I wish there was only today, just right now, and no forever.

It seems fitting that I fell in love in Paris, the most beautiful city in the world. And if I pretend, I can almost believe that my life is normal and everyone I care about is safe.

But as long as I’m with Vincent, “normal” doesn’t exist. Gorgeous, charming, and witty, he’s everything you could ask for in a boyfriend—but his destiny is so much more.

Even more terrifying than his destiny are his dangerous enemies, enemies who will kill for immortality. How are Vincent and I supposed to be together forever if we’re always in danger?

I know I’ll do whatever it takes—even if it means lying to the people I love—to fight against a fate that is trying to tear us apart.

Teaser is at 40% in the ARC

The next part was full of words I didn’t understand.  It was phrased in a peculiar style -like a prophecy- but I tried to decipher it word by word.  Still speaking of the powerful healer, the man told Goderic, ” From his family will come the one to see the victor.  If anyone holds the key to your plight, it will be the VicotorSeer’s clan.  He lives in a far away land, among les A……., and can be found under the Sign of the Cord, selling relics to the pilgrims.”

I am really enjoying Until I Die by Amy Plum.  I hope you enjoy the teaser.  What do you have to tease me with this week?  Leave it in the comments for me 🙂

Just Down the Road (Harmony Series #4)Just Down the Road by Jodi Thomas

    Synopsis:

Harmony, Texas, is a place where dreams are born. As the townspeople face unexpected endings and new beginnings, they also come face to face with themselves—and what’s most important in life…

When Tinch Turner lost his wife, he gave up on living. Now he spends his nights brooding, boozing, and brawling. When one of his escapades lands him in the ER, he finds himself staring up at the beautiful new doctor in town. For the first time in years, he feels a spark, but Addison Spencer wants nothing to do with the unruly rancher—or any man for that matter. She’s only in Harmony four months, long enough for the trouble she left behind to be over. But then a vulnerable little boy barrels into both their lives, forcing them out of the past—and into a future where love is just down the road…

In the meantime, as Reagan Truman grieves for her beloved uncle, she finds comfort in the makeshift family she’s made in Harmony—and in a new baby, the first born in the Wright Funeral Home in 45 years, proving to everyone that life does go on…

    Teaser Page 97

He nodded and slipped off her lap.  As he raised his arms for the shirt, the doctor let the towel fall.  Tinch saw the bruises striped across the boy’s back and legs.  He thought for a moment that he might pass out.  The cruelty of the act slammed against a heart that Tinch would have sworn hadn’t beaten in three years.

A bit of a painful teaser but it’s where I am in the book.  What are you reading?  What are you going to tease me with today?  I hope to see your post or teaser in my comments.  Have a great day!
