Keep Holding On by Susane Colasanti

Synopsis:

A romantic and empowering book about bullying

Noelle’s life is all about survival. Even her best friend doesn’t know how much she gets bullied, or the ways her mom neglects her. Noelle’s kept so much about her life a secret for so long that when her longtime crush Julian Porter starts paying attention to her, she’s terrified. Surely it’s safer to stay hidden than to risk the pain of a broken heart. But when the antagonism of her classmates takes a dramatic turn, Noelle realizes it’s time to stand up for herself—and for the love that keeps her holding on.

Teaser from 16% in Kindle Edition ARC

I had a dream that there was this new section of the SATs where you had to fall backward out of a plane.  A bungee cord was supposed to pull you back up.  Except sometimes the bungee cord didn’t work.  I wonder what it means.

That’s my teaser for this week, I hope you guys have some great ones!  I need some book inspiration!

Hope you will leave me a comment!

Car ThiefThe Car Thief By Theodore Weesner

    Synopsis:

Hailed by The Boston Globe as “so poignant and beautifully written, so true and painful, that one can’t read it without feeling the knife’s cruel blade in the heart,” The Car Thief was first published to enormous popularity, and sold over half a million copies. Alex Housman is a kid who at the age of sixteen has had fourteen cars, harbors many hurts, and seems to fade into his environment while raging inside. His father is an alcoholic, losing his grip on life even as he wants the best for his son. The Car Thief explores the love Alex and his father share, in a tremendously poignant story that is filled with unusual triumphs.

    My Teaser From Page 140

Red Eye disappeared, Alex missed him first in the classroom one afternoon.  Glancing toward Red Eye’s desk, he saw that he was not there -the desk was empty.  He looked around the room, over his shoulder, saw that Billy Noname was still at his desk but Red Eye was gone.  He had been at the table at lunch, but Now Red Eye was gone.  Alex wondered if Red Eye had been giving them a story about being on his way to BVS.  He imagined him loose over on the city streets, but knew somehow that it was not true.  Red Eye’s hearing had probably come up, was probably being held that very moment in the courthouse in town or perhaps he was already in a car on his way to Lansing.

That’s my teaser for this week.  I find this book really interesting because it is set not more than 40 minutes from where I live so the area is familiar!  Kind of cool.  What do you have to tease me with today?

Second Grave on the Left (Charley Davidson Series #2)Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones

    Synopsis:

If you hang around with dead people, life can deliver a whole world of trouble.

Take it from Charley Davidson, part-time P.I. and full-time Grim Reaper. The deceased find her very sparkly. Demons find her irresistible. And one entity in particular wants to seduce her in every way possible…

When Charley and Cookie, her best friend slash receptionist, have to track down a missing woman, the case is not quite as open and shut as they anticipate. Meanwhile, Reyes Alexander Farrow (otherwise known as the Son of Satan. Yes. Literally.) has left his corporeal body because he’s being tortured by demons who want to lure Charley closer. But Reyes can’t let that happen. Because if the demons get to Charley, they’ll have a portal to heaven. And if they have a portal to heaven…well, let’s just say it wouldn’t be pretty.

Can Charley handle hot nights with Reyes and even hotter days tracking down a missing woman? Can she keep those she loves out of harm’s way? And is there enough coffee and chocolate in the world to fuel her as she does?

    Teaser from Page 68

At the moment, he seemed to be contemplating that very thing. He’d tilted his head and was eyeing the general vicinity of my lower half as I knocked dirt and rock chips off it when he asked, “Can I help?

“No, you can’t help.” Didn’t I just have this conversation? “Stop channeling Angel and answer my question. Wait.” Reality sank in slowly but surely. My jaw dropped for a moment before I caught it and turned on him. “Oh, my god, you’re the tail.”
