Summer Nights (Fool's Gold Series #8)Summer Nights by Susan Mallery

    Synopsis:

Horse whisperer Shane Stryker is done with passion. This time around, he’s determined to meet someone who will be content with the quiet life of a rancher’s wife. And the fiery, pint-size redhead who dazzles him at the local bar definitely does not fit the bill.

Small-town librarian Annabelle Weiss has always seen herself as more of a sweetheart than a siren, so she can’t understand why Shane keeps pushing her away. Shane has formed the totally wrong impression of her but only he can help her with a special event for the next Fool’s Gold festival. And maybe while he’s at it, she can convince him to teach her a few things about kissing on hot summer nights, too — some lessons, a girl shouldn’t learn from reading a book!

    Teaser from Kindle Edition (73%)

Pia Moreno was in charge of the festival calendar in town.  She coordinated the million little details that went into making Fool’s Gold a tourist haven.  Without Pia there would be no Winter Festival or Book Festival.  No vendors selling jewelry and lemonade.   No rides, no horse drawn carriages in the winter.  But Pia also illustrated the best of the people in town, Charlie thought.  Without even knowing what was going on, she offered to help.

I am enjoying another visiting the character of Fool’s Gold.  What a great read for Memorial Day.  I hope you all have some great teasers this week.  Please leave me a link or comment or well whatever you would like.  Have a great last Tuesday of May.

    Dog Days

    Dog Days by Elsa Watson

    Synopsis:

In Elsa Watson’s Dog Days, struggling café owner Jessica Sheldon volunteered to be the chairperson of Woofinstock, Madrona’s annual dog festival, to overcome her reputation as “number one dog hater” in her dog crazy Northwestern town. Determined to prove her dog-loving credentials, Jessica rescues Zoe, a stray white German shepherd— and in the process the two are struck by lightning.

Jessica wakes to discover paws where her feet should be, and watches in horror as her body staggers around the town square…. Zoe and Jessica have switched bodies. Learning to live as a dog is difficult enough, but Jessica’s real worry is saving her café from financial ruin. To complicate matters, she’s falling hard for Max, the town veterinarian.

It’s clear that Zoe is thrilled to live life on “human terms,” thoroughly relishing all of the fun and food Woofinstock has to offer. But Zoe is also anxious to use her new human skills to find her missing family—who may not want her back. And Jessica needs to confront a complicated figure from her past before she can move on with her life.

Jessica and Zoe will need to learn from each other to set things right, and possibly find acceptance and love in the bargain.

    Teaser From Page 62

I wake up and can hear myself whining.

    Owww. Everything hurts.

Ow, ow. Maybe I should sleep some more.

I try to, but something keeps licking my face.  I paw it away, and it yelps.

Good.  I hope it leaves me alone so I can sleep.

Except now I’m awake.  I stretch and roll over onto my belly and then try to stand up. Only something is wrong.

When I stand up, my butt sticks up in the air.  And my paws are cold. Freezing cold.  They feel strange-soft. I drop my head to take a look.

    These are the wrong paws.

This is a fun book so far, you should check it out if you are looking for a fun read!  What teaser to do you have for me this week?

    HoundedHounded by Kevin Hearne

    Synopsis:

Tempe, Arizona is as far removed from paranormal activity as is possible. And that’s where Atticus O’Sullivan, rare book salesman, herb peddler, and 2,000 year old Druid – the last of his kind – has decided to set up shop. He’s been on the run, guarding a very powerful sword from a very angry ancient Celtic god for over two millennia now. But while these years have been good to him – Atticus has become more powerful than he could have possibly imagined – The Morrigan, a very old god of death, has predicted death and doom for our hero, and it’s up to Atticus, with help from a pride of werewolves, and a gorgeous bartender possessed by an Indian witch, to stay alive, hopefully for another thousand years.

    Teaser from Chapter 1

I had left my back open to attack by lunging to the right, so I spun and raised my left forearm high to block the blow I knew was coming.  Sure enough, there was a sword about to arc down into my skull, and I caught it on my arm on the top of the swing.  It bit down to the bone, and that hurt a lot, but not nearly as much as it would have if I had let it fall.  I grimaced at the pain and stepped forward to deliver a punishing open-hand blow to the faery’s solar plexus, and he flew back into the wall of my shop, the wall ribbed with bar of iron.  Three down, and I smiled at the remaining two, who were not so zealous as before to take a shot at me.  Three of their buddies had not only been physically beaten but also magically poisoned by physical contact with me. My cold iron amulet was bound to my aura, and by now they could no doubt see it; I was some sort of Iron Druid, their worst nightmare made flesh.

This has been a great listen so far, very entertaining!  What do you have for this Teaser Tuesday?
