Release Me by J. Kenner Tour

Milestones and Journeys

Thanks so much to Lisa’s World of Books for having me here on the Release Me blog tour!

I’m thinking about milestones and journeys today.  I got thinking about it because I just learned (a few hours before writing this) that Release Me has landed on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists!  I’m beyond giddy at the news, as you can probably imagine!

But it also got me thinking about milestones.  I’m entering my thirteenth year as a published author, and this is the first time that I’ve hit the New York Times list, so obviously it’s a wonderful milestone in my career.  But the journey has been even more fabulous.  I’ve written so many books about so many different things, full of characters that I love and remember and bonded with.

I’ve met readers who’ve told me that my books helped them through difficult periods (reading in hospitals or after 9/11) or that they identify with the heroine (Nikki’s particular issue in Release Me or even just the basic problem of juggling kids and a job, like Kate has as a demon-hunting soccer mom) or that they simply just loved the story.

I’ve met other authors who have made this journey with me, and other authors to whom I will always feel like a fan girl.  I’ve traveled for conferences to places I might never have gone (the Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe) and been able to get cool access to fun places for research (backstage at Spamalot when I was writing The Manolo Matrix)

I’ve had so many other milestones in my life, many involving my kids, and as any parent knows, parenting is one of the biggest journeys of all, starting with all the quirky little worries of pregnancy (I have a cramp! Is everything okay!) and adoption (but what if our paperwork is lost? what if the social worker thinks we’re nuts?).

I wouldn’t change a moment of any of these journeys … or the milestones!

What are some milestones in your life?

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard “no” and a fiery woman who says “yes” on her own terms.

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me. Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

  3. My husband & children are certainly the biggest milestones in my life. I keep my sanity from dealing with them by reading, lol. My husband & I celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this year, as well.

Congratulations on your milestones! NYT & USA Today Bestseller lists are quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud 😉

  4. A milestone for me was the birth of my second granddaughter who was born almost 2 months early. I learned not to take life for granted and to enjoy everyday even the bad ones. She’s going to be 6 next month.
Looking forward to reading this new book of yours.
