My Thoughts:

Forever and A Day was just a fell good read!  I love Jill Shalvis’ stories and her style that just makes me keep reading, I just have to know what is going to happen and how thing are going to work their way out.

Grace is starting her life over and she is in Lucky Harbor, taking any work she can and trying to find a job that will make her parents happy.  The problem is none of them seem to make her happy.  Grace gets a call to take care of a new puppy and somehow losing his puppy just as its own, local doctor, Josh Scott, shows up.  Despite the trouble, Grace returns to take care of the puppy with much more care in the coming days.  One day the nanny does not show up and Josh convinces Grace to nanny for him.   There are many challenges with this including Josh’s handicapped sister that lives with Josh.  Soon Grace finds herself falling for Josh but there are so many things in the way.

Jill Shalvis has a way with bringing these character to lift and really showing both strengths and weaknesses.  I think what I enjoy the best about this author is that she puts together a story that could really happen.  Life is not perfect and things don’t work out perfectly as the plot moves forward.  Also, the characters have flaws and react in the way that real people do.  This is something that I find a lot of author struggle with as there are always a focus on either the strengths or weaknesses of a particular character and they just feel unbalanced.

I also liked that we get to know many of the subcharacters in Forever and a Day from Josh’s son to the sister who has such an attitude but finds some trust along the way.  I really liked that there was also balance in the story between the romance and real life.  It flowed well and unfolded in a way that made it a page turner.  A great summer romance.
